The Papua New Guinea Chamber of Resources and Energy (PNG CORE), through its flagship event—the 2025 Papua New Guinea Investment Week (PNGIW25)—will once again provide a platform for regulators to showcase their work in facilitating and promoting international investment into the country’s economy.
Scheduled to take place from December 8–11, 2025, at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, Australia, PNGIW25 will be held under the theme “Stronger Together – Investing for the Future.” The event will feature a series of key sessions, including the PNG Regulators Forum, a major highlight of the week.
Following its successful inauguration in 2024, which attracted over 1,000 attendees, the PNG Regulators Forum has gained strong interest among industry stakeholders. The forum provides a dedicated platform for policy and regulation discussions that shape Papua New Guinea’s investment landscape.
Now in its second year and chaired by Chief Secretary Ambassador Ivan Pomaleu, the forum will bring together leaders from regulatory bodies, government agencies, industry, and development partners to identify and address key regulatory challenges affecting investment and economic growth in Papua New Guinea.
The forum aims to foster meaningful dialogue among regulators and stakeholders from the resources and energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, financial, agriculture, and fisheries sectors. The outcomes will help inform an Ease of Doing Business checklist to guide the National Government’s policy priorities for 2026.
PNG CORE President Anthony Smaré said the PNG Regulators Forum is an important segment of PNGIW25, offering an avenue for leaders in the regulatory space to exchange insights and tackle challenges affecting both existing and new investments.
“This forum is not just about dialogue—it’s about action. We want to ensure that the outcomes from these discussions translate into real, measurable improvements in how business is conducted in PNG,” said Mr Smaré.
Registration, exhibition, and sponsorship opportunities are still available. PNG CORE encourages interested participants to secure their seats early, as spaces are filling quickly.
