Brand Hero PNG is making a strong start with its community initiatives focused on education and wellbeing. Recently launched as a local entity to better serve the unique needs of Papua New Guinea, Brand Hero PNG is already building meaningful connections and delivering on-the-ground impact.
As part of their Words for Wantoks campaign, Angela Shaw and Jonathan Edwards recently travelled to Papa village to donate over 4,500 children’s books for a school library—an inspiring project in collaboration with Michael Uiari from NiuPower.
The library is already proving to be a vital resource for children and families in the area. It provides access to books and learning materials that many in rural PNG would otherwise go without.
“Books open minds, and this library will help open doors to opportunity for many. It was our absolute pleasure and honour to play a part in this,” said Brand Hero PNG co-director Jonathan Edwards.
The team was moved by the warm welcome from Mr Uiari and the people of Papa, who reminded them of the incredible power of community and education.
Words for Wantoks: A Grassroots Literacy Initiative
Words for Wantoks is a grassroots literacy initiative dedicated to improving access to reading materials across rural schools and libraries in Papua New Guinea. By collaborating closely with local schools, donors, and logistics partners, Brand Hero PNG is helping to equip the nation’s next generation with the tools they need to learn, imagine, and grow.
Commitment to Community and Growth
These projects reflect Brand Hero PNG’s deep commitment not only to business and branding but also to supporting the social fabric of communities through education and care. Alongside the Words for Wantoks literacy initiative, Brand Hero PNG also runs the Toys for Joy campaign, which delivers donated ‘pre-loved’ toys to sick children in PNG hospitals—an effort born from a visit that revealed the real challenges faced by vulnerable children and healthcare providers.
