Papua New Guinea’s premier international investment event, the PNG Investment Week, is set to return to Sydney, Australia, later this year, promising to be the most impactful edition yet under the theme “Stronger Together – Investing for the Future.”

Prime Minister James Marape has been confirmed to attend, alongside senior government and industry leaders from both Papua New Guinea and Australia. Further high-level confirmations are expected in the coming weeks from the Governments of Australia and neighbouring countries, reflecting the spirit of the event’s theme, “Stronger Together.”

Hosted by the Papua New Guinea Chamber of Resources & Energy (PNG CORE), PNG Investment Week 2025 (PNGIW25) is designed to attract global investors and showcase the nation’s resource potential in a world-class setting.

“PNGIW25 is about bringing the best of PNG to the world — so potential investors can hear the good stories, understand how investment success is achieved in PNG, and see how it delivers benefits to all stakeholders,” said PNG CORE President Anthony Smaré.

“We are creating a space where international investors can meet our leaders, landowners, and project operators face to face — to see first-hand that PNG is open, capable, and serious about attracting international investment for responsible development," Smaré said.

Following the success of PNG Resources Week and the PNG CORE Golden Expo held earlier this year in Port Moresby — which attracted over 18,000 visitors to the APEC Haus — PNGIW25 serves as its international counterpart. This upcoming event will focus on global engagement, strategic partnerships, and unlocking new international investment opportunities for PNG’s future, while helping local companies connect with potential international partners.

“We are delighted to confirm Prime Minister Marape’s attendance at PNGIW25,” Mr Smaré added. “His presence, together with that of other key leaders, sends a strong signal that PNG is united in its vision for sustainable and inclusive growth.”

PNGIW25 will feature high-level panels, investor roundtables, and networking events designed to foster long-term partnerships and promote responsible investment in the mining, petroleum, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

PNG CORE invites the global investment community to join us in Sydney and be part of shaping the next chapter of Papua New Guinea’s development story.

Registration, exhibition, and sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information, please contact events@pngcore.org or call (+675) 207 9080.
