Papua New Guinea’s National Superannuation Fund Ltd (Nasfund) has warned members and stakeholders against fake social media accounts unlawfully using its name, logo and branding to spread misleading information and potentially facilitate scams.

Chief Executive Officer Rajeev Sharma said the Fund had identified several unauthorised accounts impersonating Nasfund, creating confusion among members and exposing the public to fraudulent activities.

He urged members to remain vigilant and report suspicious accounts rather than engage with them.

“We are advising all members and stakeholders to be cautious when interacting with social media pages claiming to represent Nasfund. If you come across a suspicious page or account, please report it immediately and refrain from engaging with it,” Sharma said.

He warned members against sharing personal, financial or membership information, including membership numbers, Nasfund identification card details, contact information, passwords and verification codes.

Sharma reiterated that Nasfund would never request sensitive personal information through unofficial social media pages or private messaging platforms.

He encouraged members to verify information through the Fund’s official communication channels and contact Nasfund directly if they were uncertain about the legitimacy of an online account or message.

Members can access the Fund’s official channels through its website, www.nasfund.com.pg, and verified social media accounts:
