After years of neglect, the Central Governor's office of Central Province has been renovated under the leadership of Central Governor Honorable Rufina Peter. The inauguration took place on May 5th, 2023, at the Central Provincial Government office in Konedobu.

"When I first took office, the two places that I inspected were the Governors office of Central Province and the residents of Central Governor's office, which were in a state of disrepair and not conducive to work and live in," said Governor Rufina Peter.

"At last year's Provincial Executive Meeting, we allocated Two Million Kina to renovate the Administration office and the Central Governor's Residence."

Governor Rufina Peter expressed her commitment to providing prudent leadership in serving the people of Central Province and establishing it as an attractive destination for potential investors and development.

She assured the Governor that her request would be forwarded to the Australian High Commission for possible assistance.

Mrs. Irina Pruidze, Chief Technical Advisor UNDP, emphasized the role of UNDP in promoting women's leadership and capacity building, particularly in fostering good and sustainable governance. She pledged UNDP's support in the construction of the Central Provincial Assembly and the Central Administration Office.

Honorable Ano Pala, representing the Central Provincial Government Member for Rigo, expressed gratitude to Governor Rufina Peter for her exemplary leadership and milestone achievement in improving the administration of Central Province. He acknowledged Central Province as a peaceful and welcoming region, which is an essential quality for welcoming development.
