Ok Tedi Foundation Welcomes New Chief Executive Officer
Ok Tedi Development Foundation has welcomed Havini Vira as the new chief executive officer.
Mr Vira is no stranger to OTML, he once served as Team Leader Rural Development with OTDF while it was a department of Ok Tedi Mining Limited.
In this role, he led various agriculture, fisheries and forestry pilot projects throughout the CMCA communities.
He left in 2010 to join the National Fisheries Authority where he also completed a Masters in Biology (Aquaculture) at University of NSW.
Returning to OTDF in 2018, he served as executive manager program services with responsibility for Infrastructure Development, Sustainable Program Services, Operations and Monitoring and Evaluation.
His goal has been to improve efficiencies in OTDF’s operations to enable the organisation to achieve its mission to wisely manage funds and programs to realise the development aspirations of communities and stakeholders.
He now takes over from founding CEO, Ian Middleton who will assume an advisory role and oversee impact projects, more specifically the implementation of the WestAgro Master Plan.
Chairman Musje Werror welcomed Mr Vira during the 10-year celebrations held in March this year.
“It gives me great pleasure to announce that Havini Vira, executive manager program services will become the OTDF chief executive officer succeeding Ian.”
Mr Vira, whose appointment was endorsed by the OTDF Board and Ok Tedi Mining Limited, officially took over the leadership role on March 23 from Mr Middleton.
