Fire postpones startup PNG convention
The Startup PNG Convention scheduled to be held at the International Convention Centre starting today (Tuesday November) to Friday 22nd has been deferred due to an electrical fire.
It was announced on StartUp PNG’s Facebook page that due to an electrical fire at 4pm on Monday, a day prior to the event at the ICC, the convention has been deferred to December 10-13th at the Apec Haus.
Those that have paid for tickets are urged to keep them safe as they are valid for the changed dates and venue.
Many will have been disappointed as there was much excitement and enthusiasm of the conference which is to be opened by Prime Minister James Marape, but don’t have to wait for long with the conference just around the corner and now to be held at Apec Haus.
The program was planned to be hosted this week as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week observations in PNG.
The StartUp PNG Convention is tagged to be the largest Pacific Entrepreneurship event with local and international speakers on entrepreneurship, disruption, innovation, startups SME and impact; a StartUp Showcase featuring more than 30 PNG startups; the largest pitching event for PNG’s startups and entrepreneurs to pitch for investment and financing and exclusive VIP programme for business and political leaders and more.
Tickets are going or K165 weekly passes to K50 daily tickets for those interested in attending.
